1. Bracelet knitting

Lately when I’m bored, I mostly weave bracelets оr keychains. This type of bracelets is also called “friendship bracelets” and they date back to ancient times. Later these bracelets became popular again during the period between the 1970s and 1980s.
The tradition of giving and wearing a friendship bracelet is tied to several beliefs:

  • It represents the strong bond between two friends.
  • The recipient should wear it until it naturally falls off, as removing it early may symbolize the end of the friendship.
  • Some believe that making a wish while tying the bracelet will make the wish come true when the bracelet wears out.

To be honest with you when I started I didn’t know about the history of this bracelets. The only thing I knew was a one technique that I learned from my mom and what type of thread should I use. You need embroidery floss or stranded cotton which you can buy from Аmazon (Here is the amazon link of the threads that I use) аnd a desire for knitting.
My main way of learning new techniques was through YouTube, which has lots of videos on the topic. Here are some keywords you can use for searching: friendship bracelets, alpha patterns, friendship bracelets techniques, beginning loop of a friendship bracelet and etc.
After learning more techniques I started learning how to follow a knitting pattern (it’s not hard to figure out) which you can find on braceletbook.com. It’s a site dedicated to knitting and you can find all kinds of designs there. When I saw the designs that can be made with thread I was amazed. If you’re interested in what I’ve knitted you can check it out here.

This seems like a fun and creative way to give your mind a break, bring peace to your soul, and ignite your creativity, while also learning and discovering a new skill of your own. Who knows? Maybe you’ll be the next Da Vinci, crafting with threads. Or this could be the beginning of your own business.

2. Embroidery

Next, I’d like to learn how to embroider. It seems more challenging than knitting, though I haven’t tried it yet to say for sure. But just think about the satisfaction of embroidering a big design on the back of a Texas coat or adding a fresh touch to your jeans or T-shirt. It sounds really fulfilling to me and I hope it does to you too. It should be tried in the near future.
